These gorgeous Cape Cod style homes remind us of earlier times, quaint, bustling New England villages, and beautiful coastal scenery. Cape cods are typically sided with lap or shake and are characterized by their steep pitched gabled roof. Traditionally, Cape Cods had very little ornamentation other than sturdy wooden shutters and hand-cut cedar shingles. However, modern Cape Cods may, in some cases, lack shutters and can display modest and timeless decorative accents like vertical siding, ornamental lighting, subtly ornate columns, generous portions of trim and molding (like rams crown) perched above windows and doors for added character. Enjoy!
